Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, visionary, and hands-on Director of Development and Fundraising to serve as a volunteer board member. This role is ideal for someone with deep fundraising expertise who can develop strategy, lead implementation, and inspire a culture of giving to support our mission.

This leader will guide all aspects of fundraising and resource development, from campaigns and donor cultivation to grant writing and strategic partnerships. Although we are a new nonprofit, our mission is bold and our foundation strong. We are seeking someone who can help shape the future of our organization through intentional, sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities:

     Fundraising Strategy and Planning
• Develop and lead comprehensive fundraising plans that align with ShowGlo's goals
• Identify and grow funding sources including individual giving, grants, sponsorships, and in-kind support
 

     Donor Development and Engagement
• Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, sponsors, and funding partners
• Oversee stewardship practices such as donor recognition, impact updates, and retention strategies

    Grant Writing and Proposal Management
• Research and write grant proposals with support from staff or consultants
• Manage deadlines, documentation, and reporting for awarded grants

     Campaigns and Giving Initiatives
• Lead giving campaigns such as Giving Tuesday, wellness drives, and year-end appeals
• Collaborate with the board and volunteers to activate community engagement in fundraising

​

     Sponsorship and Strategic Partnerships
• Secure sponsorships for events and programs
• Foster partnerships with local businesses, faith-based organizations, and philanthropic networks

​

     Monitoring and Reporting
• Track progress and share regular fundraising updates with the board
• Ensure transparency and ethical fundraising practices

​

Desired Skills and Qualifications

•  Proven experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, or donor relations

•  Strategic thinker with strong follow-through and communication skills

•  Comfortable with both high-level planning and hands-on implementation

•  Familiarity with donor databases, grant platforms, or fundraising tools is a plus

• Alignment with faith-based values and a genuine desire to serve others

• Prior experience in board service, fundraising leadership, or nonprofit management preferred

Time Commitment

Approximately 8 to 12 hours per month, including virtual board meetings, planning sessions, and campaign leadership. Occasional attendance at community events or donor meetings may be requested.
